Andrew Putnam grew up in University Place, Washington where he learned how to play at Fircrest country club. He went on to receive a college scholarship at Pepperdine University, where he was a three-time All-American and two time academic all American.
Putnam turned professional in 2011, playing initially on the Web.com Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour). He earned his first professional victory at the 2014 WNB Golf Classic. After working his way up, he secured his PGA Tour card.
On the PGA Tour, Putnam’s breakthrough came in August 2018, when he won the Barracuda Championship in Reno, Nevada—his first PGA Tour victory. He has also recorded multiple runner-up finishes, including at the 2018 WGC–FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
