Some moments in golf can’t be scripted...and sometimes, you just happen to have the camera rolling when they take place.
During a recent PLT Golf Pro Team content shoot at Aldarra Golf Club, we set out to film something simple: a short “walk and talk” with Andrew Putnam, giving golfers a peek inside the mind of a PGA Tour professional. The idea was to capture how a professional would approach a hole, get insight into their decision making, and ultimately see their ability to execute.
We knew Hole 15 would work well. It’s a 215-yard par 3, framed by towering evergreens and an old grain silo. The view makes it one of Aldarra’s most iconic holes, and the architecture makes it one of the most difficult. Andrew pulled a 4-iron, took one smooth swing, and the rest is the kind of moment golfers dream about.
Shaped with a gentle cut, the ball landed softly on the green and disappeared into the hole.
It was silent for all of half a second before laughter, disbelief, and celebration broke out. We had all gathered to watch Andrew play the hole, so we had the whole crew on hand for the celebration. Bryan Weeks, Andres Gonzales, Sidney Rice, John Freitas and a few others watched what every golfer hopes for: a hole-in-one caught live on camera.
“It’s one of those things you can’t plan,” Bryan said afterward. “We were there to make the “walk and talk”, not necessarily a hole in one. But when something like that happens, it becomes part of our story.”
A Moment That Defines PLT
